The RISING PHOENIX JAYCEES
began in 1979 as a member of the US Jayceettes and became an official US Jaycee chapter in 1984, when a US Supreme Court decision allowed women to join the ranks of the US Jaycees.
Over the chapter’s 20+ years in existence, we have been at the forefront of leadership
development and community service initiatives. Our individual development programs and ties to community organizations and projects like the Lanakila Meals on Wheels,
United Cerebral Palsy’s Rubber Duckie Race and Palolo Recreation Center’s Youth Activities Program, have given our members the opportunities and skills necessary to
excel outside of the Jaycees.
In 2006, the Rising Phoenix Jaycees is creating and implementing some innovative programs
and forging new relationships with diverse community organizations. Our Leadership Development Program teaches our members project management skills necessary to
run effective projects in the Jaycees and in their own personal/professional lives. The Future Millionaires’ Club allows people to plan for a financially secure life
in a supportive and open environment. Furthermore, our new partnerships with Special Olympics of Hawaii, the Lupus Foundation of Hawaii, and the Alzheimer’s
Association provide real-world opportunities for our members to use their newly acquired skills to plan major projects from the ground up.
In addition to these great learning opportunities, we also offer a variety of networking
events, such as our M-Night Socials and through our numerous volleyball leagues, individual development projects, and socials such as karaoke nights, hiking and
picnics.
