Hilo Jaycees

The Hilo Jaycees was chartered on September 15, 1939 by the Honolulu Junior Chamber of Commerce (now known as the Honolulu Jaycees). If officially affiliated with the United States Junior Chamber of Commerce on February 29,1940. The Hilo Jaycees is the second oldest chapter in Hawaii, and as such, has chartered other chapters on the Big Island: Lehua Jaycees (1965) and the Kona Jaycees (1952). The Hilo Jaycees has a sister chapter relationship with the Honolulu Jaycees and with the Hiroshima Junior Chamber of Japan. Major projects of the Hilo Jaycees include the Hawaii County Fair, the Hilo Jaycees Scholarship, the annual Easter Egg Hunt, the Salvation Army Thanksgiving luncheon and many more.
